About This Event:
Join Community Captain Josh for a winter afternoon hike along the Orange Oswald Trail at Summersville Lake. This trail offers beautiful lake overlooks, rocky terrain, and peaceful forest views, making it a perfect cold-weather adventure for those who enjoy a brisk, scenic outing in nature.
What to Expect:
• A moderate hike with mixed terrain and lake views
• Opportunities to explore lesser-traveled sections of Summersville Lake
• A friendly, relaxed pace for all hikers
How to Prepare:
• Wear sturdy hiking shoes and dress warmly in layers
• Bring water, snacks, and gloves or a hat for the weather
• Trekking poles recommended for uneven terrain
• Meet at the Orange Oswald Trailhead before 2:00 PM

Regarding Community Captain Programs and groups of children: All Active SWV Community Captain programs are family friendly; children are invited to attend with the expectation of a parent/guardian ratio of 1 guardian adult to 5 children. It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g. Scouts, youth groups, etc), that an adult to child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above.
